News: How oil and gas companies report spills -- and how some don't

Energy companies spill oil and other fluids associated with the drilling process frequently. It's just usually not as public as what happened with BP in the Gulf of Mexico.

Garfield County produces more natural gas than any other place in the state. The energy company Williams harvests enough natural gas - every day - to heat all the homes in Denver. And with that volume of production, mistakes are bound to occur.

An analysis of state data by KDNK News shows hundreds of documented spills throughout the county over the last decade. KDNK's Conrad Wilson reports.
