A Ban on Fireworks is not a Ban on the Sale of FireworksJuly 4, 2012
Just as firefighters are beginning to control wildfires that have burned through thousands of acres in Colorado, here comes the 4th of July. Open-fire bans on federal and county lands and in some municipalities as well as a statewide ban against setting off fireworks have put the kibosh on a good old-fashioned, incendiary Independence Day celebration.
But, the fireworks stand along Highway 82 between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale, has remained open because the ban does not include selling fireworks; it only bans their use.
KDNK's Amy Hadden Marsh spoke with the owner of the stand earlier this week and has this report.
