A Wild and Scenic Crystal River

The future of the Crystal River was the subject of a forum in Carbondale last week hosted by the nonprofits American Rivers and the Roaring Fork Conservancy. The discussion centered on whether the Crystal deserves federal designation as a "Wild and Scenic River," which would prevent the construction of dams on the river and ban impacts that harmed the Crystal's conservation values.
