For music, arts, theatre, festivals and special events. Frequency up to 3 times daily as schedule permits. Spots are pre-recorded with a music bed and run up to 60 seconds.
Long-term contract benefit: Earn one week of free underwriting with each 1-year contract commitment.
Prepayment & discounts: All six-and twelve-month contracts paid in advance will receive a 10% discount.
Minimum Contract: Underwriting contracts are a minimum of 3 months.
Billing: We bill quarterly. Past due accounts will be terminated.*A short message includes the name of your business and phone number or address.
KDNK UNDERWRITING GUIDE
Take advantage of a unique opportunity ... by being a KDNK underwriter. Your message, presented in the company of the best programs on KDNK will make a positive imprint on our audience ... your customers, employees, colleagues, friends and neighbors throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
Your company can be a partner in making possible the best public radio programming in the Roaring Fork Valley. As a KDNK Underwriter, your credit will be broadcast in association with a variety of programs or with the specific program you choose, allowing you to present an effective message in an uncluttered, noncommercial environment.
It is preferred that station announcers deliver all underwriting credits, except on NPR?s Morning Edition where the announcements are pre-produced. We will work with you to produce an underwriting credit or announcement that best serves your needs and our audience.
Each underwriting credit is reviewed for adherence to FCC and station rules and for esthetic and technical acceptability. Creativity need not be absent from the credit production process. We will work with you to develop an engaging and enlightening corporate message.
KDNK 's Underwriting Guidelines as set forth by the FCC Public Radio Regulations
Your message may include:
• Name of business
• Location of business
• A description of your services/products
• Your registered slogan [non-promotional]
• Your brand names
• Your telephone number(s)
Underwriting on KDNK may NOT include:
• Comparative or superlative language (ie,: "largest," "best," Board certified, licensed and insured," etc.)
• Mention of price, interest rates, discount, sales or savings
• Promotions or call to action [ie,: hurry in, call now, operators are standing by etc.]
Examples of Permissible Announcements
KDNK offers basic and enhanced underwriting.
Basic:
Enhanced:"The upcoming portion of NPR's underwritten by: Summit Canyon Mountaineering - the clothing, the equipment, the expertise since 1978. Featuring Patagonia, Marmot, Black Diamond, The North Face. Under the clock tower in Glenwood Springs."
Examples of Impermissible Announcements
"The upcoming portion of NPR's underwritten by: Big foot gear in River City City offering snowshoes for only $78 through April 1."
or: "Stop by Frank?s Used Cars for the bargain of a lifetime."
These examples contain prices, superlatives and a call to action.
"The upcoming portion of NPR's underwritten by: River Valley Ranch on the Crystal River in Carbondale."
