Become a DJ

DJ's are the heart and soul of KDNK, and all are local volunteers. KDNK offers an eclectic mix of rock, folk, blues, jazz, bluegrass, reggae, funk, soul, world, hip-hop, and more! All our volunteer DJ’s host a two hour program, and are encouraged to explore new music from independent and emerging artists, as well as delve into the KDNK library of old favorites.

The first step is to sign up for one of our monthly DJ trainings. This is where we show you around the station, provide a fist look at the on air studio and get you going on the road to becoming another well-trained KDNK announcer. KDNK is a place for locals to have a voice, to learn and grow and to serve the community. DJ trainings are usually held the third Thursday of the month.

Read the KDNK DJ Operating Manual Here.

Community Advisory Board

The Board of Directors of KDNK Community Access Radio has established a Community Advisory Board (CAB) in order to receive regular feedback from the community and to comply with certain requirements for stations that receive federal funding through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

The purpose of the CAB is to review the programming goals established by the station, the services to the communities provided by the station, and the significant policy decisions rendered by the station. The CAB may also be delegated additional responsibilities as determined by the Board of Directors of KDNK.

This board meets at least once per year. To attend or serve on the board contact KDNK at 970 963-0139 or e-mail steve at kdnk.org.

Other Board Committees

The KDNK has established a Program Committee which is charged with surveying our membership to access how well we are executing our mission. The Board also requires occasional assistance with ad hoc committees and other duties. Contact board at kdnk dot org for more information on serving on a committee.

Land Clearing and Weeding

There's always something that needs doing here at KDNK. Outside landscaping, tilling and land clearing are always welcome. Contact us and let us know of your tactile skills.
