KDNK broadcasted the English in Action Immigrant Voices live from TACAW on Thursday, December 8th.
English in Action believes storytelling can foster cross-cultural understanding and connection within our diverse community. The Immigrant Voices event provides an opportunity for their students and other local immigrant community members to share a part of their lives with an audience. What courage they have to speak publicly in their non-native language! Since 2017, the event has sold out theaters throughout the valley, as was the case this year.
In collaboration with Writ Large, English In Action presented six storytellers from four countries; Lissette Escolero and Ingrid Celeste Zuniga from El Salvador, Isabel Guerrero and Belen Alcaraz Madrigal from Mexico, Giovanna Kennedy from Peru, and Ketut Siladarmawan from Bali.
