With four council seats on the ballot this spring, sparks could fly in Glenwood's muni elections

Prospective candidates must collect at least 25 signatures from registered voters in their ward.

Candidates for the one at-large seat can collect voter signatures from anywhere within city limits.

According to the Post Independent, Ward Four Councilor Paula Stepp won't seek reelection. At-large council member Tony Hershey says he's undecided, and Ward One's Marco Dehm and Ward Three's Charlie Willman say they'll seek to retain their seats.

Given the blowback and sometimes violent rhetoric after the council's decision to annex 480 Donegan parcel in West Glenwood—later overturned by voters,—sparks could fly this election season.

Nomination petitions with valid signatures from registered voters are due by January 23rd.
