Cody Lee
Music Director & DJCody Lee has had a lifelong love for community and public radio. First as a baby, with KPFT Houston, then KUT Austin, followed by KGNU Denver/Boulder, KMNO Maui and finally KDNK Carbondale. Cody has DJed at KDNK since 2009 and served as the Music Director since 2019.
He says, "I love most all music and don't care much for how people want to "classify" it. For me, Music has ALWAYS been dangerous, provocative, and the most powerful healing force on Earth. I love Jazz because it's complex, defiant, and improvisational. I love most Roots music for it's purity and soul (and that's Reggae, Folk, R&B, Rock...whatever you wanna call it). I love Hip-Hop for it's unique cultural language that is infused into it's Blues, Jazz & R&B roots. (Even Louis Armstrong was a rapper). What I dislike is music marketed to the masses that shortcuts quality and complexity, programmed drumbeats, auto-tuned voices, etc."
Catch him on the airwaves Alternating Tuesdays 9-11pm with 'Wicked Jazz'
and Fridays Noon-2pm with 'The Deep...' co-hosted with Chris Hassig.
