Here’s your community calendar for Friday, August 11, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club, meeting every Thursday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale. Rotary: Service above self. The Hootenanny with the Heathens is finally here, and that's not all. Click the headline to view today's events!

  • Rifle Farmers Market opens at 4.

  • Hootenanny with the Heathens begins at 5 at Carbondale’s 4th Street Plaza. Erika Ryan takes the stage at 6 and the Band of Heathens play at 7:45. KDNK will have a great selection of drinks. The Mountain Fair Slideshow closes out the evening at 10.

  • Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park features music by Feeding Giants from 5 to 8:30.

  • The Carbondale Community Oven will be fired up for a Pizza Bake at 6 -  5:45 for the gluten-free folks. Dough and sauce will be provided, attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite toppings and picnic accessories.

  • 10 Questions for the Dalai Lama screens at the Third Street Center at 6:30.

  • Hello Dollface plays The Beach in Leadville at 6:30.

  • Pam and Dan perform at the Black Dog Saloon in New Castle at 7.

  • Leadville’s Tabor Opera House features Lend Me A Tenor at 7:30.

  • Dunkirk shows at the Crystal Theatre at 7:30.

  • La Pompe Jazz plays at The Temporary in Basalt at 8.

  • 2017 Green is the New Black Best of Show Winner Ira Sherman lectures on welding at The Colorado Rocky Mountain School Barn at 8:30.

  • And Shakedown Street plays the Belly Up Aspen at 9:30.

Looking ahead…

  • On Sunday, The Town of Carbondale and Steve’s Guitars present Rosewood Divine and Pearl & Wood opening for The Deer from Austin, Texas. KDNK will live broadcast the concert.
