KDNK Youth Radio Alumna Wins Denver Press Club Scholarship

Carbondale's Megan Webber is one of seven recipients of the 2019 John C. Ensslin Denver Press Club Scholarship, the club's highest honor. She'll receive the award on Friday.
Webber is a KDNK veteran who had a radio show when she was just 12 years old. After graduating from Roaring Fork High School, she served as a news intern at both KDNK and the Glenwood Springs Post Independent.

“If it weren't for my training at the PI and KDNK, I would not have many of the reporting skills I do now," Webber told the Post-Independent. “I believe journalism has a real impact on society. I want to make a difference.”

Webber currently works as features editor for The Metropolitan, which is Metropolitan State University's student newspaper.

After the awards ceremony in Denver, Webber and the six other 2019 Denver Press Club scholars will get to meet with journalist Bob Woodward. The Press Club is honoring him with their annual Damon Runyon Award.
