This year’s proposed Amendment 71 - or “Raise the Bar” - asks voters to decide whether making amendments to the state constitution should be more difficult. But, a wide array of groups oppose it, as Kelsey Ray reports for the Colorado Independent. Peterson Air Force Base officials say 150 thousand gallons of water containing Perfluorinated Compounds were mistakenly discharged into the sewer system earlier this month. Highway 133 is closed in both directions between the McClure Pass summit and Paonia Reservoir due to a massive rockslide early Wednesday morning. At least 1000 vehicles a day use the highway in that area according to CDOT. Traffic is being diverted at the Colbran turn-off, around mile marker 36 and at Kebler Pass, at mile marker 24. The main alternate route is I-70 to Highway 50 to 133. The Post Independent is reporting there is a chance the road will be open Saturday but over 100 tons of debris are on the road and barrier.
