RMCR Hiring Grants Administrator

Rocky Mountain Community Radio coalition is a nonprofit organization with a mission to develop, promote and support the role of community radio stations through communication with and collaboration of member stations. We support our member stations by:

●     Producing and distributing regional programming

●     Providing opportunities for the exchange of needs, ideas, and training

●     Sharing of resources to maximize the impact of community radio

●     Advancing the use of new technologies

●     Promoting public awareness and support for community radio

Through maximizing our collective resources, Rocky Mountain Community Radio is able to assist member stations to better serve their listening communities.

NEW ROLE

Lead new collaborative grantwriting efforts, coordinating with station staffers, and managing grant deliverables. Work with members of the RMCR board to build existing relationships with foundations and other grantmakers and grow new ones. Organize opportunities and data, communicate with participants to solicit input, and track all completed work.

GETTING STARTED

Upon accepting this position, you’ll join station representatives from throughout the coalition at our annual Rocky Mountain Community Radio conference, hosted this year by KZMU Moab from Nov. 13-15. This is an opportunity to meet staff and volunteers for member stations. Then you’ll follow up and learn more about each station’s priorities and capacity. Meanwhile, you’ll dive into researching potential funding opportunities including Corporation for Public Broadcasting, National Endowment for the Humanities, Colorado Creative Industries, Solutions Journalism, Gates Family Foundation, Gay & Lesbian Fund, El Pomar Foundation, Colorado Media Project, etc.

WHAT SUCCESS MEANS

Lead 15 funding applications and manage the follow-through for each successful grant. Build on the RMCR’s initial investment and raise money that helps this organization grow and evolve.

SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Bring personality, vibrancy, focus, coordination, and passion for public radio. We are looking for writing experience, organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong communication style.

WHAT WE OFFER

The RMCR Grants Administrator will work on contract for $45/hour for approximately 10 hours per week. The position includes a travel budget and is funded through September 30, 2020.
