Here’s your community calendar for Saturday, May 13, underwritten by the MountSoprisRotary Club, meeting every Thursday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale. Rotary: Service above self. Click the headline for weekend listings!

  • Dandelion Day returns to Carbondale today! Sopris Park is overflowing with fun and sustainable activities, food, craft vendors, educational presentations and live music from 10:30 to 5. KDNK has the drinks covered, with selections from Roaring Fork Beer Company, Paonia’s Black Bridge Winery, and a dandelion-infused vodka from Marble Distilling, and all proceeds help to support KDNK.

  • Glenwood Center for the Arts presents the 25th Annual Dancers Dancing Showcase at Glenwood Springs High School with shows at 1pm and at 7pm.

  • There is a community bread bake at the Carbondale Community Oven outside the 3rd Street Center at 1. All are welcome, jam, dough, and drink contributions are appreciated.

  • Thunder River Theatre Company presents Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse today and tomorrow at 1 and 4.

  • Aspen Blackbox Theater showcases Pop! A Spring Cabaret performed by local teens at 2 and at 7.

  • Dance Initiative presents a workshop with Award-winning performer Melissa Toogood at the Launchpad in Carbondale from 3 to 4:30, registration here, followed by a special presentation and performance by Toogood at 5.

  • The Grand Opening for the new Summit Canyon Mountaineering Store in Glenwood Springs will feature drinks and live music from 5 to 8.

  • Carbondale Homeless Assistance hosts a fundraiser at the 3rd Street Center from 6 to 9.

  • The Masonic Lodge in Glenwood Springs hosts a Country Dance at 6:30.

  • Comedy Night at Marble Distilling in Carbondale features Talon Saucerman at 7:30.

  • Jay Feller entertains at Grove’s Black Dog Saloon in New Castle at 7:30.

  • Old Crow Medicine Show performs Blond on Blond at the Aspen Belly Up at 9:30.

And looking ahead…

  • On Sunday, there will be an interfaith vigil in Sayre Park in Glenwood Springs at 3pm in recognition that many people are unable to be with their families this Mother’s Day due to the politics of immigration.
