Highway crews continue to remove large boulders and fix road damage. According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, travelers should expect periodic short closures of the interstate through the weekend.
The large rock slide closed all lanes of I-70 for several hours Tuesday. It happened about five miles east of Glenwood Springs. The closure created considerable travel snafus for drivers, especially with Vail Pass closed for a time Tuesday as well. A potent storm wreaked havoc on roadways statewide, leaving many mountain passes icy and snowpacked.
