AZYEP Celebrates Pride Month

In lieu of this year's high school alternative prom and as a way to support youth GSAs in their organizing efforts, the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program hosted a Pride Month Radio Show - celebrating Queer People of Color. AZYEP took requests from kids and played two hours of music by Queer artists, many of which are people of color. This show is supported by AspenOut and includes messages of hope for LGBTQ+ youth.

During Dimensions in Diversity on the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program, host Steve Mills of Gay For Good - Rocky Mountains talks with Diana Andrews of Garfield County Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) about resources for teens, teachers and families.

During the 2020 Aspen Gay Ski Week, AZYEP talks with Remington Scott Kienbusch about their advice for LGBTQ+ youth growing up in rural Colorado, the evolution of drag comic Mariam T., and the history of drag performance. The Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program spoke with participants of the valley's annual alternative dance and poetry slam which celebrates youth LGBTQ+ diversity. The Word Dance takes place in April and is hosted by the Basalt High School Gay Straight Alliance and sponsored by AspenOUT.
