Ross Montessori Students Reflect on Climate Change

Over 100 people gathered in Sopris Park Friday for the Climate Strike, organized by 350 Roaring Fork. The event coordinated with other strikes around the world. Speakers included Carbondale Mayor Dan Richardson, Dr. Greg Feinsinger, Arn Menconi, and local youth. KDNK’s Amy Hadden Marsh spoke with students from Ross Montessori after the event.

On Friday, September 20, hundreds of students, teachers and concerned citizens gathered in Sopris Park for the climate strike organized by 350 Roaring Fork in conjunction with other strikes around the world. Speakers included Carbondale Mayor Dan Richardson, Dr. Greg Feinsinger, Arn Menconi, and local students. For audio of these speeches, click here.

A strike for Climate Action at Sopris Park tomorrow will feature speeches from students, local government officials, climate activists and more. The event is one of more than 800 actions across the country, ahead of next week’s UN Climate Summit in New York. Fred Malo, a volunteer for 350 Roaring Fork, is the primary organizer of the event.
