Colorado is among the places on the national radar for an emerging surge in possible COVID-19 cases. As of this past weekend, Colorado had seen nearly 5000 known cases, and 140 deaths as a result of the spread of the new coronavirus. In El Paso County alone, there have been 25 related deaths. KRCC's Andrea Chalfin recently spoke with Dr. Tim Rummel, a pulmonary critical care doctor at UCHealth, on what it's like as the number of cases continues to grow.

Corey Hutchins joins KDNK's Gavin Dahl on Booked to discuss his reporting on President Donald Trump's massive rally in Colorado Springs last week. Trump said of embattled US Senator Cory Gardner, "He's been with us 100%. There's no waver." Plus, he explains why a dozen rural newspapers ran PR as news, mostly without disclosing the writer was paid to make the County Clerks Association look good. And he touches on how the Denver Post is using algorithms for sports coverage, and addresses the sale of the Greeley Tribune from Swift Media to Alden Global. Corey Hutchins teaches journalism at Colorado College and covers media for the Columbia Journalism Review and Colorado Independent.
