Good news for Garfield County came down earlier this month when a Federal Judge recommended halting one of two lawsuits filed by Rocky Mountain Resources, owner of the Mid-Continent Limestone Quarry near Glenwood Springs. For this week’s News Brief, KDNK’s Amy Hadden Marsh gets an update from Glenwood Springs Post Independent reporter Thomas Phippen.

Comedian Frank King presents at Glenwood Springs Branch Library on September 17th for the Post Independent’s annual Longevity Project. The event includes appetizers and drinks at 5pm with a panel discussion at 6pm and Frank King at 7pm. The theme for this year’s Longevity Project is “Striking a Conversation: Mental Health for All Ages.”

The Sopris Sun

The show for Thursday, January 3 features Megan Tackett back as host. Joining Megan in a conversation about local journalism was Will Grandbois of the Sopris Sun, KDNK's new News Director Mark Duggan, Thomas Phippen of the Glenwood Springs Post-Indepedent, and Amy Hadden Marsh of both KDNK and the Sun. Marsh also spoke of her recent experiences learning to ski as a sixty-something woman, something she wrote about in a recent Sun column.
