Host Megan Tackett speaks with designers Amanda Simmons, Summers Moore and Meagan Shapiro about Carbondale's 11th Green is the New Black Fasion Show on March 8th.

Designers Maria Rodina and Delia Bolster join Megan Tackett on Express Yourself on March 15th.

Carbondale Arts presents the 11th annual Green is the New Black Fashion Show this month. Tickets are still available as of today for the preview on Thursday night March 14th, but the Friday and Saturday shows sold out already. Amy Kimberly dropped by the KDNK studio on First Friday to talk about the history of the fashion show, and how funds raised support arts education in the community like the Rosybelle Mobile Maker Bus

Savanna LaBauve and Stephanie Seguin are this year's Resident Artists at the Carbondale Clay Center. They talked about their sculptural ceramics and their creative process. We also heard from the The Two Tracks out of Sheridan, WY about their brand of folk-rock. And Hamilton Pevec reveals a little of the mystique surrounding the Green Is the New Black Fashion Show. This year's version is the 10th.

Ira Sherman

Jeweler and metal sculptor Ira Sherman has created kinetic sculpture originally designed to protect the wearer from unwanted sexual advances. Now it's a whimsical hit at the Green Is the New Black Fashion Show. In fact, last year Ira won Best in Show with his work. This year he has a new look and he visited Beyond Beyond to tell us about it.

On this week's show Sopris Sun photographer Jane Bachrach joins editor Will Grandbois, reporter Megan Tackett and special guest Eaden Shantay, co-founder of True Nature Healing Arts. They discuss the 24-hour opening ceremony for the Kiva and Spa as well as the upcoming Green is the New Black Fashion Extravaganza and the recent Carbondale Board of Town Trustees candidate forum.
