Katrina Byars

Katrina Byars is a former Carbondale Town Trustee and current democratic candidate for Garfield County’s Board of County Commissioners. She has a Masters of Legal Studies in natural resources and environmental law and is a long-time advocate for healthy communities and healthy public lands. She shares her practices and mindset for maintaining strong leadership amidst the political and social challenges of these times.

To learn more about collaborative divorce, KDNK welcomed collaborative law facilitator, attorney, and mediator Angie Buchanan from Durango, certified divorce financial analyst Patrick Janssen from Denver, and attorney and mediator Bert Dempsey from Boulder. They all serve on the board of directors for Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals, whose aim is to support couples to get divorced without going to court. This paradigm shift can benefit children, keep private matters out of the public eye, and allow attorneys to work toward win-win situations for their clients.
