Aw Snap Photo Booth

Doors open at 6pm at Third Street Center's Community Hall tonight. Enjoy the Aw Snap photo booth, Wild Style food truck, and KDNK's bar featuring RFBC, Odell, Peach Street, Marble & Big B's. Costume contest with DJ Luis Raul starts at 7:30. Tnertle, one of Colorado's funkiest dance bands, hit the stage at 9. Sponsored by High Q & TACAW. Tickets available at the door.

Thanks to Post Independent writer Kyle Mills for covering the KDNK Halloween Dance Party with DJ Spooky at Third Street Center on Halloween night in the paper. It's great to get positive coverage of our hard work. Advance ticket sales have ended, but tickets are available at the door, starting at 6.

The adults-only benefit event features a music video mixtape curated by KDNK djs along with games and prizes thanks to Roots RX from 6-8pm, costume contest from 8-9pm with celebrity judges and prizes from Glenwood Caverns, Sopris Liquor & Wine, and Carbondale Beer Works, and headliner DJ Spooky from 9-10:30pm.  

Also starting at 6, Wild Style food truck will serve Lamb Samurai Voodoo Tacos, Pickled Avocado Tacos, and Bison and Green Chile Sloppy Joes. You can wash them down with beer from Ska Brewing, Denver Beer Co, and Roaring Fork Beer, plus Marble Mules, various red wines, and Sparkling Blood Orange Watermelon Wine on ice.

Living in the Future's Past

This Thursday, October 11, Carbondale’s Crystal Theatre will feature one of the first public screenings of Jeff Bridge’s new climate documentary Living in the Future’s Past thanks to local nonprofit Solar Rollers. KDNK’s Raleigh Burleigh caught up with Solar Rollers founder and director Noah Davis to learn more.

Nationally touring standup comedian Adam Cayton-Holland speaks to KDNK about peforming for tough crowds, how the Denver comedy scene has changed, his TV series called Those Who Can't on the TruTV network, plus the Colorado Rockies, Denver Comic Con, #MeToo, and his forthcoming book.

Feeding Giants, an acoustic duo from New Castle, visited Express Yourself during a snowstorm. This multi-genre husband-and-wife band has a busy weekend, with gigs at Marble Distilling in Bonedale and the Ute Theatre in Rifle, benefitting the Rifle Animal Shelter. They played two songs for us, What Do I Gotta Do and Damn This Traffic.

KDNK members like to party. We are going to throw down tonight, October 28th for the Halloween Dance Party starring The Davenports, playing seventies and eighties songs while you sing along. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Doors open at 6 with a DJ set by Steve Cole, with live music and a costume contest to follow. The winners of the costume contest will score soaking passes from Avalanche Ranch, Sustainable Settings and Near New + Scavenger Industries! Also included in the price of admission is a photo booth from Aw Snap. This will be the last Slow Groovin BBQ truck of the season, so join us for dinner. Plus the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program will bake up some goodies for donation. (BRING CASH.) But leave the kids at home, this party is 21+ only. Drink specials will be available from Marble Distilling, Roaring Fork Beer Company, Aspen Brewing, and Jack Rabbit Hill Winery. This party is gonna go off!!!
