quarantine

Miss Maggie

Local musician and KDNK DJ Maggie Seldeen, AKA Mugsy Fay, is one of two Rosybelle educators leading weekly virtual creative tutorials with Carbondale Arts. She joined KDNK's Raleigh Burleigh on Express Yourself to share about the program and her work as a musician.

Stina Sieg / Colorado Public Radio

This week on Booked, KDNK's Gavin Dahl speaks to Colorado Public Radio's western slope reporter Stina Sieg about her coverage during the coronavirus outbreak. Her reporting over the past month included a story about migrant workers in Palisade, the Delta Tru Vu Drive-In opening for the season, and the rise in baking of isolation loaves and quarantine cookies during the stay at home order. She says her reporting has changed dramatically over the past few weeks, and sometimes she wishes she could just do comforting stories all the time, but also likes the challenge of finding the human side of tough subjects.

Us Fish and Wildlife Services

A Colorado-based Facebook group titled “Go Outside and Howl at 8pm” now has over 500 thousand members, and it’s just one of many similar groups. Coloradans all over the state have taken to the new quarantine activity.

Ms. Holly

Waldorf educator and parent Holly Richardson is launching Ms. Holly's Magic Land, an exploration in YouTube broadcasting, to make her teachings for parents and their children accessible during this time of collective quarantine.

The Geeks get together while keeping distance with several forms of technology, including KDNK's Tieline, a good olde fashioned telephone landline, plus voice chat software called Mumble. Marty joins to help describe some coronavirus-era scams and provide some advice for working remotely.

Walalla Buckeroo

Local musician Olivia Pevec is performing daily songs at noon to raise awareness for LET THEM ROAR's efforts to produce a new studio album. She joined Raleigh Burleigh on Express Yourself to talk about the project and her time in quarantine.
