This month's guest on Senior Matters is Brian Zaragoza, the new executive director at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale. Brian shares about how Heritage Park is empowering lives and restoring independence for our senior community.

On this month's episode of Senior Matters, host Diane Johnson talks about neuroplasticity, also known as brain plasticity. It's the ability of the brain to change throughout an individual's life. Johnson is joined by representatives from NFI, or the Neuroplastic Functional Institute. Senior Matters is heard once a month of KDNK and is hosted by Diane Johnson. Third Street Center

The Third Street Center has completed a renovation adding six large windows, skylights, and windowed doors to brighten up the gym. The big unveil was also a celebration of Brain Train, a program sponsored by local non-profit Senior Matters. Raleigh Burleigh reports.
