Steve's Guitars

After much preparation, Streamin' Steves goes live on First Friday, May 1st, at 7:30pm on YouTube thanks to GrassRoots TV. Beginning at 9pm, KDNK will also air the concert, featuring local musicians Wes Engstrom, William Steindler, Jeremy Isenhart and Jackson Emmer as well as a recorded favorite of Jeffrey Foucault live at Steve's Guitars from early 2019.

Bradman

Local musician and videographer Brad Manosevitz, known to many as "Bradman," joined KDNK's Raleigh Burleigh on Express Yourself to share a few of his new songs and provide an update about the Streamin’ Steves initiative with Grassroots TV. Steve's Guitars will host a fundraising sale and silent auction on the weekend of April 3rd towards raising the $18,000 necessary for HD cameras and improved live streaming services.

Ley Line

Ley Line returns to Steve's Guitars on Saturday, February 22, at 8:30.

Raleigh Burleigh/KDNK

At 26-years-old, Taylor Scott has toured around the world with Otis Taylor, produced an album with Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, and regularly plays alongside drummer Larry Thompson of Aspen's Starwood. Taylor stopped by KDNK to perform a few tunes before his show at Steve's Guitars on Friday, January 10.

The Harvard Din & Tonics

The Harvard Din & Tonics are Harvard University’s signature jazz a cappella group. Leslie Johnson interviewed them prior to a performance at Steve's Guitars on Saturday, January 11.

Let Them Roar wrap up their 'I See My Light' campaign for immigrant justice with two special concerts tonight and Saturday at Steve's Guitars, presented by KDNK and Carbondale Arts. Bandmembers Olivia Pevec, Sophia Clark and Ashton Taufer join KDNK's Gavin Dahl on Express Yourself to discuss their performance, reflect on their acclaimed performance at Mountain Fair this year, and recap the campaign that became the band's mission statement this year, launching on the Summer Solstice and wrapping up on the Winter Solstice. 

General Mojo's

Dune Butler of Seattle psyche-rock band General Mojo's joins Raleigh Burleigh on Express Yourself to talk about their upcoming show at Steve's Guitar's on Wednesday, December 11.

Humbird

Humbird's Siri Undlin stopped by KDNK during the Les is More show to preview their performance at Steve's Guitars on November 21, 2019.

Marbin


Marbin is a progressive jazz-rock band from Chicago. The band's founders Danny Markovitch and Dani Rabin shared stories about their music and touring before playing at Steve's Guitars on November 1.

It was a long in-studio, but it was magic from beginning to end. You could tell Dan enjoyed it too. He told a wonderful story about giving Wilt Chamberlain tennis lessons, and he had some incisive things to say about Bob Dylan, children, and the importance of radio to him. He also played a new song, Regent Street, as well as Baby Bye Bye and Take the Guns Away. Dan plays Steve's Guitars tonight.

Musicians Harper Powell, Gillian Grogan and Natalie Spears stopped by KDNK's studios to preview Ladies in the Round at Steve's Guitars, which also features Olivia Pevec. The show is on September 6th at 8pm.

Lipbone Redding stopped by KDNK to see Kat Rich during Jamburger & Fries. Lipbone hosts OmPrana Sonic Meditation at True Nature on August 20 at 6pm then plays at Steve's Guitars on August 21.

Kelly Hunt

Kelly Hunt plays her century-old banjo, named Ira, in a spare but evocative way. But her singing is rich with innuendo due to her superb phrasing. Kelly, from Kansas City, is touring behind the release of her debut CD Even the Sparrow, and that tour brings her to Steve's Guitars Sunday night. KDNK's Luke Nestler spoke with Kelly about her singing and her songwriting and how it came together on her new CD.

Tony Kamel

Prior to playing a sold-out show at Steve's Guitars, Tony Kamel of Wood & Wire joined Raleigh Burleigh on Express Yourself to talk about their grammy-nominated album North of Despair.

Steve Standiford

 


The Mt. Sopris Music Festival celebrates nearly two decades of showcasing local musicians on July 5. This year's line-up includes Miner Keys, Roaring Fork High School Jazz Band, Callin' Old Souls and The Wolf Tones.
