Comedian Frank King presents at Glenwood Springs Branch Library on September 17th for the Post Independent’s annual Longevity Project. The event includes appetizers and drinks at 5pm with a panel discussion at 6pm and Frank King at 7pm. The theme for this year’s Longevity Project is “Striking a Conversation: Mental Health for All Ages.”

Colorado Health Institute released a study detailing barriers to mental health care for veterans in Colorado, the report points to "stigma" as the primary reason why many colorado veterans do not seek mental health resources. KDNK’s Lucas Turner spoke with Karam Ahmad, Policy Analyst at Colorado Health Institute and lead author of the report to learn more about this issue.

Garfield County Suicide Deaths Spike in July

Six suicide deaths occurred in Garfield County last month, half of all suicides reported last year, bringing the 2018 total to 11. KDNK's Amy Hadden Marsh spoke with Mason Hohstadt with the Garfield County Suicide Prevention Coalition to find out more.
