Early season snowfall means good news for resorts and winter recreation enthusiasts, but it’s not all sunshine and powder days. October storms in Colorado mean increased avalanche risk throughout the state. KDNKs Lucas Turner spoke to the Director of Forest Service National Avalanche center Karl Birkeland to find out more.

It sounds like the White River National Forest will preserve the lower parcel of what Fayhee calls "pure riparian splendor" with public access trails to the Roaring Fork River.
