Elloit Norquist has been an artist in and around the Roaring Fork Valley since 1970. His upcoming show at the Charlotte Jackson Fine Art Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico combines simple shape with bold color to turn everyday objects, like mailing envelopes, into abstract statements. Elliot joined Raleigh Burleigh and Chris Hassig on Express Yourself to talk about his work.

Raleigh Burleigh was raised in the historic floodplanes of Satank. The Carbondale Rotary Club sponsored him as a youth ambassador to Chile the year before his graduation from Roaring Fork High School. He studied International Affairs and Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder then applied those studies traveling throughout South America the following year. Returning to Carbondale thereafter, Raleigh acquired an internship with KDNK News which led to the opportunity to serve as News Director from 2017 to 2019. After another trip to South America in early 2019, Raleigh Burleigh drew deeper into the confluence as Program Director at KDNK. Raleigh now serves on KDNK's board of directors and as editor of Carbondale's weekly newspaper, The Sopris Sun.
Chris is the boring half of the Deep Breakfast duo, sidekick to the infamous Thunderbuns. He's lived in Carbondale since 1991 (age 4) and listened to KDNK growing up. On Deep Breakfast he explores Jazz, Reggae, Blues, Experimental, African and other World music or whatever miscellanea happens to be bouncing around inside his noggin at the moment. When not at the boards he's a visual artist and ski bum. You can check out his work at chrishassig.com.
