Sonja Neema, right, learned how to ski with Kaylin Williams at the Snowmass Ski Area on Dec. 11, despite her initial nerves. On her second day of skiing, Neema was doing well and taking laps on the “magic carpet” — a small conveyor belt that brings students up a small slope at the Elk Camp Meadows beginner area.
