On this episode of Live Poet Society, host Hattie Rensberry shares readings of poetry from Oscar Wilde (plus one that inspired him!).
Oscar Wilde is considered by some to be the living embodiment of the Aestheticism, an art movement which includes the likes of Rossetti, William Morris, Whistler, and Beardsley.
Many of whom believed in what we now would refer to as “art for art’s sake”, without an inherent need for art to serve another purpose besides being beautiful.
Wilde is often described as being an ostentatious and disruptive dresser, with a dandy flair.

Poetry featured in this episode includes:
The Brothers (Lady Jane Francesca Wilde)
The Grave of Shelley (Oscar Wilde)
Impressions (Oscar Wilde)
Fabien Dei Franchi (Oscar Wilde)

The Ballad of Reading Gaol (Oscar Wilde)

Featured music is by:
OSCAR WILDE by Warmduscher
OSCAR WILDE GETS OUT by Elton John
OSCAR WILDE by Company of Thieves
