Controversy over the books available in public libraries is currently in vogue, and the Roaring Fork Valley isn’t immune. KDNK’s Hattison Rensberry caught up with Jamie LaRue, the library district’s Executive Director, to ask about a contentious board meeting on November 2nd, and what the national trend of challenging LGBTQ+ content looks like on a micro scale within the district. Marketing Director James Larson, himself a member of the LGBTQ+ community who grew up in a repressive environment in the South, also joins the conversation.
