The White River National Forest released a draft environmental analysis this week for a proposed plan to manage overnight visitors to the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. The Forest Service hopes to reduce resource damage to certain popular sites that District Ranger Karen Schroyer says comes from a lack of backcountry education and guidance. KDNK’s Amy Hadden Marsh has more. The Forest Service will hold a public meeting about the plan on Wednesday, April 5th in Basalt at the Rocky Mountain Institute Conference Room from 5 – 7 PM.
