An airtanker can be seen in the distance above the Spring Creek Fire south of Parachute. The Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team Two took command of the fire early Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, a new study shows that federal firefighters take on the dangerous job for less pay than state-employed fire personnel.
