On August 25, 2017, the Ute Council Tree in Delta, Colorado - a cottonwood considered to be at least 215-years old - was cut down. (Click here for the KDNK news story.) Today's show features Alden Naranjo, Southern Ute historian, Terry Knight of the Ute Mountain Ute Nation, and Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk of the Northern Ute Nation, who came to the ceremony honoring the tree just before it was cut.
