Ryan Ernstes won 5Point Film’s first ever pitch event during the flagship festival’s return to Carbondale over the weekend. Ernstes is working on her master’s in journalism at the University of Colorado-Boulder and began volunteering for 5Point early in the pandemic. For being selected over six other film pitches, Ernstes will receive $15,000 towards making her first documentary. KDNK’s Morgan Neely spoke with her after Sunday’s Changemaker’s Film Program.
