KDNK's co-ed softball team won in thrilling fashion Monday night, taking home their first victory of the season in extra innings. Led by player/coach Anderson Cole, the Sultans of Swing, Swing, Swing put together their most complete performance of the summer against team Forum Phi. Down one run in extra innings, News Director Morgan Neely scored from second base on a sharply hit line drive up the middle to tie the game. Newcomer Ben Johnston, Esq. hit a one out triple before being driven in by DJ BeyOndrea for an 11-10 win.

KDNK Music Director Cody Lee gritted his way through a solid outing on the mound after taking a line drive off his shin early in the tilt. It’s not yet known if he’ll have to spend time on the non-Covid injury list, but team sources are optimistic he’ll be able to pitch again by early July.

The Sultans will look to take advantage of their winning momentum against Team Shake 'n’ Bake next Monday at North Face Park under the lights at 9 p.m.
