UPDATE: Shortly after tonight's newscast, U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill temporarily blocked parts of Idaho's near-total abortion ban from becoming law. The state's "trigger law" would have taken effect on Thursday. Winmill's ruling means abortions to protect the health of the mother, or prevent disability, can still be conducted, and no officers of the state can arrest or prosecute doctors for performing abortions intended for emergency health care. The ruling is a victory for the Biden Administration, who lost a similar case in Texas Wednesday.
