Here's your community calendar for Friday, October 16th, underwritten by Basalt Regional Library, presenting the sixth annual Swap It Like It’s Hot clothing swap tomorrow, October 17 from 10AM-3PM. This community event combines a free community clothing swap with food, drinks, and activities for all ages. More info at basalt library dot org.
There's so much happening today and later this weekend, we could barely fit it into one calendar, so let's jump right into it…
- Roberta Lewis & Steve Cole play live at Heather's Savory Pies in Basalt at 6:30 this evening
- Also at 6:30, the Shining Mountains Film Festival gets going at the Wheeler Opera House, with additional showings tomorrow at 2pm and 6:30.
- Symphony In The Valley presents Phantoms of the Orchestra at 7pm at the Ute Theater in Rifle.
- The Intaglios return to Townline Trucks for a live performance, that's also at 7
- Also at 7, the Crystal Theatre puts on their final showing of Practical Magic 2.
- And TACAW welcomes Jackson Emmer, Megan Burtt and Martin Gilmore for a Songwriters' Round, that's tonight at 8pm
It'll be a busy Saturday morning in the KDNK listener area as well…
- The Rifle Area Mountain Bike Organization, or RAMBO, throws their 6th Annual Grand Hogback Extravaganza starting at 9am tomorrow
- Back at TACAW, Aspen Public Radio will host the 3rd annual Roaring Fork Valley Backcountry Symposium, that also gets going tomorrow morning at 9
- Mountain Valley Developmental Services puts on a Beginner Weaving Class, that's tomorrow at 9am as well, and again on Sunday at the same time.
- The Carbondale Tree Board offers a Tree Mulching Volunteer Day, beginning at 10am tomorrow at the Lofts next to City Market.
- In Leadville, a 4th of July Makeup Parade gets rolling at 10am, with fireworks later in the evening.
- And Oktoberfest celebrations run all day long in Carbondale tomorrow, with music and events starting at Noon and going til 10pm at the park on Main Street across from Peppinos and Beer Works
