Here's your community calendar for Friday, December 19th, underwritten by Basalt Regional Library, presenting the Winter Solstice Celebration, later today at 5:30PM. A festive gathering around the fire, featuring a variety of activities designed to warm the heart with hot beverages, food, crafts, storytelling and more. More info at basalt library dot org.

It's the last weekend before the holidays, here are a few ways to start it off…

  • High Rockies Harm Reduction distributes Narcan & Safe Use Supplies from 4 to 6 at the Third Street Center in Carbondale
  • Children's Book Club reviews "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid" today at 4 at the Pitkin County Library. 
  • Children Of The Corn Liquor get fired up at 4:30 at Glenwood Caverns for Friday Afternoon Club
  • Then at 5:30, the Glenwood Library holds a Tabletop Game Night
  • The Basalt Middle School Theatre presents their performance of The Nutcracker tonight at 6:30
  • Over in Leadville, Freight hosts a Trivia Night fundraiser starting at 6:30
  • The Crystal Theatre begins screening Sarah's Oil tonight at 7.
  • Then at 8, The Queen Bees play their "Bee Merry" Holiday Music show at TACAW
  • Also at 8, RY-X puts on a show at the Wheeler Opera House.
  • And local DJs Goreteks [Gore-Tex] & Thumper spin drum&bass at Pollinator Chocolate in Carbondale from 8 to 11pm, including an ugly sweater contest at 9:30. 

And looking ahead to Saturday…

  • Carbondale Arts presents the Bonedale Winter Bonanza, happening all day tomorrow throughout downtown Carbondale, including KDNK DJs at 4th & Main from Noon to 4.
  • The Carbondale Clay Center holds a Kids-Only Holiday Sale from 11 to 1 tomorrow.
  • And Pam & Dan play at Rock Island in Snowmass tomorrow from 3 to 6pm.
