Here's your community calendar for Friday, November 7th, underwritten by Basalt Regional Library, presenting Movies at the Library: Join or Die, later today at 5:30PM. The film investigates why people should join a club—and why the fate of America depends on it. More info at Basalt Library dot org.

It's time for First Friday! Let's see how many events we can squeeze in today…

  • High Rockies Harm Reduction will be stationed at the Third Street Center in Carbondale from 4 to 6 today
  • Also at 4, the Carbondale Library provides face-painting, crafts and Mexican hot chocolate in preparation for our next event on the calendar
  • Carbondale Arts puts on First Friday starting at 5pm, including the 21st Annual Dia De Los Muertos event, with a procession at 6pm and performances by Aspen Sante Fe Ballet Folklorico, Mezcla Socials Dance, Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra and more. 
  • Over in Leadville, the Lake County Library presents Craft Anarchy at 5, with tonight's session focusing on Self-Publishing Techniques
  • At 7pm, The Crystal Theatre in Carbondale begins screening Bugonia
  • Dank Cilantro's record release party for "The Caper Club" starts at 8 at Carbondale Beer Works
  • Also at 8, Cap Stevens performs at Pastime Saloon in Leadville.
  • And Tommy The Animal headlines Belly Up Aspen tonight at 8:30

And here's a few events to ease you into the weekend on Saturday…

  • The Emma Schoolhouse Bazaar runs from 8am to 3pm tomorrow
  • The Silt Library offers a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Storytime tomorrow morning at 10:30.
  • And also at 10:30 tomorrow, the Life After 70 Group meets at the Carbondale Library
