Here's your community calendar for Saturday, August 2nd, underwritten by Basalt Regional Library, presenting the End of Summer Reading Scholastic Book Fair, running through tomorrow, August 3rd during library hours. Here's but a few ways to start off your weekend…

  • New Castle's Rides & Reggae festival runs all day and late into the evening, with live music starting at 3pm at VIX Park
  • Also at 3, the Pitkin County Library puts on a Button Making class for their Crafting At The Library series
  • The Lake County Library will be closed today for Boom Days
  • The Blue Canyon Boys perform at Redstone Park at 6pm tonight
  • Wild Flight plays at Heather's Savory Pies in Snowmass at 7pm
  • Also at 7 in Snowmass, Denver group Float Like A Buffalo performs in the Mall
  • At 8, Chris Voth brings his comedy routine to TACAW
  • And Stablehand ropes you in at 9pm at Pastime Saloon in Leadville

And settling into Sunday…

  • At 8am tomorrow, Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers celebrate 30 years with a commemorative project at the Maroon Bells Scenic Area
  • True Nature in Carbondale offers a Fellowship Community Meditation tomorrow morning at 9.
  • The Crystal Theatre screens a 5oclock showing of The Naked Gun
  • The Jazzmonauts go into orbit at the Highlands Alehouse, that's also tomorrow at 5pm
  • And at 8:30 tomorrow night, Kitchen Dwellers cook up the beats at Belly Up Aspen
