Here's your community calendar for Thursday, February 12th, underwritten by Basalt Regional Library, presenting The Art of Being Human: Collage Self-Portrait Workshop, next Thursday, February 19th at 4PM. Kids can explore what makes each of us unique! Using magazines and other collage materials, children will build expressive self-portraits that celebrate feelings, interests, and identity. We were happy to see some wet weather today, let's see what's going on…

  • Lift Up will be available today from 10:30 to 1:30 at Glenwood Catholic Charities, and from 12:30 to 3:30 at the Parachute warehouse
  • The Basalt Library's Banned Books Club meets to discuss "Monster" by Dean Myers, that's at 4pm this afternoon
  • Over in Leadville, the Winter Sauna & Book Club Series meets at Freight at 4pm, and Two Dog Market provides a Community Poetry Reading at 5. 
  • The Glenwood Library offers a Writing Workshop today at 5pm
  • Ragged Mountain Sports presents a Signing Party for the book Western Sloper, that's at 5 as well 
  • Also at 5, Grand River Health in Rifle holds a Technology Open House
  • The Rifle High School throws a Community Dinner Fundraiser at 6pm
  • The Crystal Theatre presents their first No-Swipe Social event, starting at 6:30
  • Also at 6:30, the Lake County Library puts on their Adult Game Night
  • New York City Comedian Modi gets on the mic at 7 at the Wheeler Opera House
  • And Carbondale Beer Works gets seductive with Bangin' Bingo and Dirty Trivia (aka Foreplay for the big day) starting tonight at 7.

And if you're feeling superstitious, here's some things to do on Friday the 13th…

  • Lift Up distributes food & pantry items at the New Castle River Center from 9 to 1 tomorrow, and from 10 to 1 at the Rifle Library
  • Thunder River Theatre begins their 3-weekend run of K2, with the first performance at 7:30pm tomorrow
  • And Olivia the Bard, Lena Maude and Mugsy Fay play live at Steve's Guitars tomorrow at 8.
