Here's your community calendar for Tuesday, February 24th, underwritten by Basalt Regional Library, presenting "What Remains Still Speaks: Blackout Poetry for Teens" this Thursday, February 26 at 4PM. Teens can explore the human experience through blackout poetry using words, art, and imagination to uncover poems about identity, emotion, resilience, and connection. - Lift Up distributes food & pantry items from 11 to 2 today at the Rifle Library, and from 1 to 3:30 at Glenwood Catholic Charities
- Aspen City Council meets at 5pm at City Hall
- Also at 5, the Escaping Reality Book Club gathers at the Parachute Library
- The Basalt Library offers Chamber Music by the Flatiron Five and Tonic Winds, that's at 5:30 this evening
- Both the Carbondale and Basalt Town Councils meet at their respective Town Halls tonight at 6
- The Art Base in Basalt puts on Hues & Brews, with a Charcoal Life Drawing Class, that's at 6pm as well
- Also at 6, Townline Trucks in Carbondale holds an Open Mic Night
- Then at 6:30, White River Books holds their monthly Rooted in Writing meetup
- Roaring Fork Drawing Club gets together at 6:30 at Thunder River Theatre
- The Wheeler Opera House welcomes mountain-climber Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner for their Changemaker Speaker series at 6:30 tonight.
- The Crystal Theatre screens two films focusing on Water In The West, followed by an expert speaker panel, with everything starting at 6:30
- And Black Pistol Fire shoots their shot at Belly Up Aspen, with Pink Fuzz warming up the crowd beforehand, doors open at 8pm for that show
Whipping forward into Wednesday…
- Lift Up lands at the New Castle River Center from 9 to 1, the Silt Baseball Fields from 10 to 1, and the Third Street Center from 2:30 to 4:30 tomorrow
- Teen Fly-Tying Club returns to the Basalt Library tomorrow at 3
- And The Crystal Theatre shows Lady & The Tramp, that's also at 3 tomorrow.
