Here's your community calendar for Thursday, January 8th, underwritten by Basalt Regional Library, presenting "Storytime in Sign" later today at 3:45PM. During this special story time, books will come to life through American Sign Language. This event is geared towards kids 3 to 7 years old, but open to everyone. More info at basalt library dot org.

  • Lift Up distributes food & pantry items from 12:30 to 3:30 at the Parachute warehouse, and from 2 to 3 at the Third Street Center in Carbondale
  • The Carbondale Bike Project offers bike repair tips & tricks at the Third Street Center today from 2 to 6
  • The Aspen Science Center brings Tech Club to the Carbondale Library at 3:45 today
  • Then at 4, the Silt Library puts on Loteria With The Library
  • Also at 4, the Basalt Library's Banned Books Club gets together to discuss Mikki Kendall's novel "Hood Feminism"
  • The Glenwood Library offers a Writing Workshop today at 5
  • The Pitkin County Library presents the first-ever meeting of the Snowmass Village Bring Your Own Book Club, that's at 6 at Slope & Hatch
  • At 6:30, the Lake County Library in Leadville puts on an Adult Game Night
  • Comedian Monty Franklin performs at The Wheeler Opera House at 7 this evening.
  • The Whiffenpoofs of Yale University make their yearly pilgrimage to TACAW tonight at 8pm
  • And Emancipator lays down the beats at Belly Up Aspen, that's at 9 tonight

Friday has plenty in store as well, here's just a couple examples…

  • Lift Up Services will be at the New Castle River Center tomorrow from 9 to 1, and at their new location at the Rifle Library tomorrow from 10 to 1.
  • And the Rifle Library will host a STEM Exploration Hour tomorrow at 2
