Community Calendar for October 3rd

Here’s your community calendar for Monday, October 3rd, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club, meeting every Thursday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale. Rotary, service above self.

  • From 6:30 to 8, Roaring Fork Holistic Moms Network hosts Megan Sanctuary at the Orchard in Carbondale. Megan is working toward her PhD in nutritional biology at UC Davis.

  • Lululemon in Aspen hosts vinyasa flow yoga at 6:30 with DJ Bhakti Syler.

  • At 7, the Davi Nikent Center for Human Flourishing hosts a talk called How To Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease & Other Chronic Conditions at the Third Street Center in Carbondale. Dr. Greg Feinsinger, founder of The Center for Prevention and Treatment of Disease Through Nutrition, shares up-to-date info on plant-based whole foods.

  • Ian Moore brings blues, r&b and soul to Belly Up Aspen tonight at 10.

  • And don’t forget the freeze watch from the National Weather Service for KDNK’s listening area. Take cake of your outdoor pets and keep in mind that crops, sensitive outdoor vegetation and irrigation systems could be damaged.

Looking ahead…

  • Join the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program on First Friday, October 7th from 6-8 pm for a potluck and picnic table dedication happening in KDNK’s backyard (on the east side of the building). Everyone is welcome. The dedication will be at 6:30 p.m. Bring a potluck dish to share if you like. Students in the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program raised money to purchase a picnic table and donate it to KDNK in memory of Andy Zanca.
