The organic pumpkin patch at Osage Gardens, on River Frontage Road between New Castle and Silt, is open from 11AM to 6PM. Kids activities include a hay maze and hay mountain.
The New Castle Gardens Pumpkin Patch on Peach Valley Road in New Castle is open from 10 to 4:30 with the Pumpkin-ator that launches pumpkins over 200 feet. Other activites include hay rides, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin basketball and hillbilly golf.
At 5:15 the Basalt Library board of trustees hold their latest public meeting.
At 6, the documentary He Named Me Malala will be shown at Glenwood Springs High School by the Global Issues class. They hope to raise awareness of violence against women and to promote education for girls. They will accept donations of gently used women’s clothes.
Crystal River Ballet School teaches teens and adults with all levels of experience at The Launchpad in Carbondale at 6.
Also at 6, Glenwood Springs Library hosts Your Story, Your Life, a facilitated workshop for writing your personal history, one story at a time.
And at 7:30 the Crystal Theatre shows an adaptation of the novel The Light Between Oceans.

KDNK presents our inaugural Songwriters Showcase tomorrow, October 18th at 7pm here at the station, 76 south 2nd Street in Carbondale. Hosted by musical group, The Authentic Wild West, you can bring your own instrument and original music to share.

Also on Thursday, KDNK will broadcast the Carbondale mayoral forum live from Third Street Center, in partnership with the Carondale Chamer of Commerce and The Sopris Sun. We have three candidates to choose from, current mayor pro tem Dan Richardson, current trustee Katrina Byars and former trustee Ed Cortes. The event kicks off at 5:30 and runs until 7.
