Community Calendar for October 20th

Here’s your community calendar for Thursday, October 20th, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club, meeting every Thursday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale. Rotary, service above self.

  • The pumpkin patch at Osage Gardens, on River Frontage Road between New Castle and Silt, is open from 11AM to 6PM. Kids activities include a hay maze and hay mountain.

  • The New Castle Gardens Pumpkin Patch on Peach Valley Road in New Castle is open from 10AM to 4:30 with the Pumpkin-ator, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin basketball and hillbilly golf.

  • Alpine Legal Services Presents a Do-It-Yourself Divorce Clinic at the Garfield County Courthouse from 5 to 6. Registration at AlpineLegalServices.org.

  • KDNK offers DJ training this evening at 5. Sign up by calling 963-0139.

  • And KDNK will broadcast the Carbondale mayor candidates forum live from Third Street Center, in partnership with the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce and The Sopris Sun. The event kicks off at 5:30 and runs until 7. Mayor pro tem Dan Richardson, trustee Katrina Byars and former trustee Ed Cortes are on the ballot and competing to be your next mayor.

  • Marble Distilling hosts Yappy Hour at 5:30 with pets from CARE available to adopt.

  • At 6, Glenwood Springs Library hosts Death & Coffee Cafe with chaplain Sean Jeung and RN Barbara Bush in conversation about what makes a good end of life.  

  • Haden Greg, Hap Harriman and Dana Underwood play Heather’s in Basalt at 7.
