The New Castle Gardens Pumpkin Patch on Peach Valley Road is open from 10AM to 4:30 with the Pumpkin-ator, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin basketball and hillbilly golf.
The pumpkin patch at Osage Gardens, on River Frontage Road between New Castle and Silt, is open from 11AM to 6PM. Kids activities include a hay maze and hay mountain.
Dancing Bear General Store in Glenwood Springs hosts a Polish food tasting at 2:30.
From 5 to 6 PM, fruit trees will be dedicated to Ro Mead and Carol Rothrock at the Launchpad. Carbondale Arts is honoring the one year anniversary of Ro Mead's passing as well as Carol Rothrock, a former CCAH Board member and artist who passed away several years ago. The fruit bearing trees will give back to this community as both women did. The public is invited to attend and bring an appetizer, drink, or story to share.
Carbondale’s next Climate Action Plan Workshop is today at the Calloway Room in the Third Street Center from 5 to 7. Help guide the Town of Carbondale in planning for its climate goals. Hosted by CLEER and CORE, the workshop will allow community members to help identify strategies, tactics and projects as Carbondale strives to be a leader in sustainability.
From 6 to 8, the Glenwood Springs Library hosts “Your Story, Your Life,” a facilitated workshop for writing your personal history, one story at a time. Facilitated by historian and writer Shelly Merriam, the workshop is limited to ten participants. To reserve a space, call 945-5958.
At 6:30, the Center for Human Flourishing hosts its monthly potluck at the Third Street Center. The focus is on Plant Based Whole-Foods, which means no added oil, salt or sugar, in pursuit of heart health. Bring a dish and your recipe to share.
At 7, Colorado Mountain College celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Common Reader community reading program with an author’s presentation at the Spring Valley campus. Reyna Grande, author of the critically acclaimed memoir “The Distance Between Us,” about spending her childhood torn between two parents and two countries will give a reading. Special guest Molina Speaks, a Denver-based poet and performance artist, will also speak.
