Community Calendar for October 26th

Here’s your community calendar for Wednesday, October 26th, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club. Rotary is holding a raffle, with all proceeds going to dental care for local children in need. Prizes include a 3-day trip to Denver with hotel and Broncos tickets.   • The New Castle Gardens Pumpkin Patch on Peach Valley Road is open from 10AM to 4:30 with the Pumpkin-ator, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin basketball and hillbilly golf.

  • The pumpkin patch at Osage Gardens, on River Frontage Road between New Castle and Silt, is open from 11AM to 6PM. Kids activities include a hay maze and hay mountain.

  • It’s Foreign Film Night at Basalt library from 5:15 to 7. “My Afternoons with Margueritte” takes place in a small French town where a mostly illiterate man and a novelist become friends.

  • Also at the Basalt library from 5:30 to 7:30 is the Emerging Writers Workshop.

  • At 7, the Center for Human Flourishing presents author, researcher and historian Father Francis Tiso. He will discuss his latest book, “Rainbow Body and Resurrection.”

  • Jonathan Gorst mans the piano at the Riviera Supper Club in Glenwood Springs at 7.

  • Suzzanne Paris plays Heather’s in Basalt at 7.

  • From 7:30 to 9, mindfulness facilitator Lisa Goddard leads yoga dharma at The Launchpad.

  • The Crystal Theatre shows new film The Dressmaker starring Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth at 7:30.

  • A reminder that all six branches of the Garfield County Libraries will be closed this Friday, October 28th for a staff training day. Normal library hours will resume at 10 AM Saturday.
