Community Calendar for November 1st

The Community Calendar on KDNK is underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club. Rotary is holding a raffle, with all proceeds going to dental care for local children in need. Prizes include a 3-day trip to Denver with hotel and Broncos tickets. For more information, contact Pat Pier at 987-3265.

Mark your calendar for December 2nd because KDNK’s annual Labor of Love auction and Holiday Bizarre Bazaar is coming to the Village Smithy on Main Street in downtown Carbondale for December’s First Friday. We need more items for the auction, which already includes passes from Aspen Ski Co, tickets for Avalanche soccer, a Les Paul guitar, artwork, massages and more. Drop by the studio or give us a call at 963-0139.

Today, from 10 AM to noon, Joanne Stamp, program manager with the Center for Independence, leads a workshop for seniors called Empowered to be Independent, at Sunnyside Retirement Center in Glenwood Springs. This event is for people with vision, hearing and memory challenges, as well as their families and caregivers, and will cover helpful technology, tools, tricks and financial resources. Thanks to Valley Life for All for the tip.
