The New Castle Cub Scouts want to help the town break a world record by collecting the most food donated by a community in 24 hours. Tomorrow, they will go to every house in New Castle and drop off a donation bag. Then, next Saturday, November 12, they will return to gather the harvest. They will also accept donations for 24 hours at the New Castle City Market beginning at 1 pm on the 12th. John Harcourt has the details.

He’s also accepting donations of non-perishable food and blankets, sleeping bags, lumber, horse feed and anything for winter camping. You can drop donations at Gina Cucina's Kitchen 1917 Dolores Way in Carbondale, at KDNK, and the Marble Distillery on Main Street. Trucks leave for North Dakota on Monday.
