Here’s your community calendar for Wednesday, November 9th, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club. Rotary is holding a raffle, with all proceeds going to dental care for local children in need. Prizes include a 3-day trip to Denver with hotel and Broncos tickets.   • Today at the Third Street Center from 1 to 5, Carol Shure will facilitate a new three week series organized by the Center for Human Flourishing, called Transforming Holidays into Holy Days.

  • Valley Life for All and the Center for Independence present a free workshop called “Empower to be Independent: Resources and Skills for Hearing, Vision and Memory Challenges” at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale from 1:30 to 3:30.

  • At 5:30 the Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District board of directors will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2017 budget.

  • Free Community Yoga classes continue this evening at the Glenwood Library at 6.

  • American Rivers and Wild Rose Consulting invite you to learn about the history, traditions and laws about water use and rights in Colorado and the West, tonight and tomorrow from 6 to 9 at the Third Street Center. Registration for these free events is encouraged at 970-230-9300.

Looking ahead…

  • KDNK’s annual Labor of Love auction and Holiday Bazaar is coming to the Village Smithy on Main Street in downtown Carbondale for First Friday, December 2nd. The auction includes passes from Aspen Ski Co, tickets for Avalanche hockey, a Les Paul guitar, Hunter S Thompson artifacts, plus massages, haircuts, artwork and much more. We are looking for more auction items so if you have something cool to contribute, drop it by the studio or call us at 963-0139.
